Historic Church - Timeless Faith

In 1893 ten islanders organized the congregation. The church building was constructed and dedicated in 1909. For over 100 years people have gathered here to pursue their spiritual journey. Today, people from a broad range of backgrounds form this community of faith that values and honors our individual spiritual paths. We respect differences in theology, celebrate diversity, and appreciate asking life's big questions without insisting on easy answers. You are welcome here!

Visit Us

Worship service every Sunday morning at 10:30am. Coffee hour following.
Whether you are visiting the island for the first time, are a seasonal resident, or a lifelong islander, we'd love to have you visit us on a Sunday morning. For some, it may not be easy to step through the doors of an unfamiliar church, so here are some things to expect when you do.

We are a friendly, non-judgmental, and inclusive bunch of folks. We come from many different backgrounds and have varied forms of religious experience or no experience at all. There is no dress code, no doctrine will be pushed on you, and your experiences and viewpoints will be respected. We are affiliated with the United Church of Christ and are an open and affirming congregation.

We follow an order of service that includes hymns, prayers, scripture, and preaching.

Scripture is central to our worship and we take it seriously but not always literally. We trust that the Spirit continues to speak through the ancient texts and stirs our minds and hearts today.

Music enhances our worship and nurtures our spirits. We are enriched by our talented pianist as well as occasional guitar and choir.

Communion is open to all, and is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of each month.

Prayer is central to our faith, and we pray for one another, our island neighbors, and needs around the world. If you would like us to pray for you or those you love, let us know.
